too a bunch of yokels who worship cars that haven't been produced in 11 years. Back in '73 the same crowd was bemoaning the new stringent air quality standards and how they had emasculated the 400 cubic inch 4 barrel behemoths roaming the earth at that time; They were convinced the era of hi-performance automobiles was dead and would never return because of the "radical environmentalists" They were wrong then and they are wrong now Fast forward a generation and cars have never been faster, cleaner, safer and efficient. 500hp & 27mpg? Incredible! It wouldn't have happened unless the people thru government regulation had insisted upon cleaner air and better fuel efficiency.
As to your idea to convert one of our beloved z32's...it's a dumb idea. Restore one to it's original glory and place it in it's place in history as the first true production car to reliably show the possibilities between the marriage of the microprocessor and the internal combustion engine.
If you are really serious due something really imaginative like modify a Prius or an equivalent to run 5 sec 0-60's ; pull 1g and yet manage to get 50mpg with zero emissions. Now that would be cool
