Message what it is bolted on. As long as there is enough energy to drive it. The compressor has to be in the efficiency range of the torque rpm band of the engine.

In the case of a 300Z. It makes peak torque around 4800rpm. The turbo should be at least making enough boost pressure by that rpm to have a good torque curve.

The stock turbos come one early around 3500 rpm and run out of steam at 5k. They is why you see the torque curve drop off fast. The compressor can't support the volume of air above that .

My turbos come on at 4K and continue going up in air flow. My torque hasn't made any big dips like the stock turbos have. I haven't yet maxed out the turbos yet.

At low boost pressure, my turbos are making not that much more torque than stock turbos. However the HP is much higher because my turbos can support the flow all the way to red line. Hence my torque is almost flat like a platueu, not a moutain like the stock turbos.
