The computer and comm personnel here on base can take a computer that information has been lost or intentionally deleted and recover it as if nothing had happened. It's called residual data and can be recovered as long as the residual information was not overwritten by new data. If Ni[X]it wanted to or could afford to, he could have the computer gone through and have the lost data recovered and put on an external hard drive.
