Sometimes things are a compromize when you go to high power and have the need of a twin disc clutch to double the torque handling capacity. As you know Carbon material is extremely light. The first generation RPS carbon twin disc's were heavier than a stock organic disc, But still lighter than a single feramic disc...... The first RPS Carbon clutches were hard to shift at high RPM. RPS worked very hard on lightening the carbon clutch where ever they could, They even tried making the whole disc assembly out of pure carbon. This attemt failed in testing because the carbon material would crack. The first carbons had steel frame parts for the disc. RPS now uses aluminum to support this disc and the weight of both carbon disc's together are now lighter than a single stock disc.
