I had just come back from the Gulf War. Prior to deploying I had an NCO who was overweight and on the verge of being chaptered out of the service after 19 years. Long story short, I worked with him to get his weight in check up until the day I left. While over in the big 'sand box', I got a postcard saying he had successfully met the height/weight standard and had put in his paperwork to retire. I thought nothing about it anymore. Well, a month before I'm due to return, someone broke into my house (my girlfriend was nice enough to leave the keys to the car on the kitchen countertop!!!)and stole my 88 Z31 (It was in MINT condition.) It was recovered, but the clutch was burnt out, stereo was gone and there was a ton of other things wrong with the car. I decided to sell it and get a 91 twin turbo as I read so many great things about the car. I go to Stewart Nissan and lo and behold the salesman was..you got it! The NCO I previously mentioned. We chatted and he said he wanted to repay me for all the help I gave him. After we chat for a few minutes I tell him I want the black twin turbo on the showroom floor. He went to the back office to talk with his buddy (the owner) and came out grinning like a six year old on Christmas morning. He told me he had told the owner about his struggle and how I helped him. He sold me the car for $1 over INVOICE. Talk about karma. LOL!!!
