I been in a similar accident, and the old man lied through his teeth and said i rear ended him when he backed up into my car (he was trying to get into a lane next to me so he went into reverse and backed right into me). The asshole told the cop i rear ended him. And the fact that back then i was alot younger (19 years old) vss a old man in his late 60s you know how that goes, the cop automatically sees a teenager at fault thinking i was driving wreckless. To make a long story short, being young Asian driver, the cop pretty much assumed i did the damage without even giving me a chance. I got a point on my record for that and my insurance had to pay for all that damage. :(
