Message	cost of the filter. Change it at the same time as the oil especially since when you remove the filter oil from the valve train and in the filter is also removed. No sence adding old oil to the fresh. Consider also that time is also an issue on the filter element. After a year of use the paper will show signs of decomposition. ZUL8TR in Orlando,FL
