Message And even better, all of the tools in rhino can be used directly with the device for definitions.

For example...
"Surface" --> "Plane" --> "3 points"

Touch the probe to a flat surface at three points and the plane is defined to with .002"

I would then interpolate the boundaries of the plane by tracing the extents with the probe, followed by a cut.
