| The data streamed from the consult port is important because it is exactly what the ECU is seeing and making decisions based on. Interpreting the data based on assumptions and external sensor data is not as accurate as exactly what the ECU is seeing and ultimately basing it's control over the engine on. This is also the only way to accurately map trace and see what exact values the ECU is interpolating from the various MAPs. Tapping into sensors externally is not always going to give you the exact values that the ECU is seeing due to potential resistance and voltage variations. It might be very close, but why re-invent the wheel with existing sensors since the data is already available and guaranteed to be what the ECU is seeing/using. A hybrid would allow for this data to be collected and analyzed as well as factoring in external data sources such as widebands, boost controllers, etc for datalogging and playback analysis. Mike
