Message	You lost the tone because the material in the muffler is burning away. That is the same way my friends car started. My friend cut the one on his car open, and also cut a new one in half. There was a big difference after he had only driven a few hundred miles. Since he was selling them, he easily got them for $15 each so cutting them up was no big deal to him.
