if the road has wheel grooves from years of use. They may not be immediately visible, but if you drive in them with directional tires on bad enough roads, it's sometimes almost like wind is blowing against the car when the tires slip in and out of the grooves. Just a possibility, not sure what tires were on the Altima, but Eagle F1's are obviously directional and could account for it.
