Message grinding... That is what puts tension on the syncro when going into gear, That is what I have been trying to explain to everyone why there transmissions grind. The syncro themselves are usually ok.

Shifter to shift fork. Shift fork pushes on the gear sleeve.. Gear sleeve then pushes insert spring which pushes the syncronizer into the main drive gear to speed it up to the speed of the shaft. If the spring is worn,weak or broken there is nothing left to push the syncro into the next gear to speed it up. it never speeds up the gear so the difference in speed makes your grind.
