Message I wanted the cats to be flanged, as opposed to being welded on the pipes. That placement makes it much easier to remove them. That way I can replace them with a straight pipe secton for the track if need be. But really, these cats are 3 inch, and hell you can see through them, so they won't be restrictive at all. I have noticed no difference at all in power. The reasons I did it was because for one, ever since I did the larger valves, and I guess the quad as opposed the dual tip B&Bs didn't help much, it really was just to loud inside. Between 60 and 70 mph there was a very bad resonance. Hell, I couldn't even hear when John pulled up beside me and honked his horn. Really, it was that loud. The cats did tone it down to a very tolerable level. Second, I don't want to have to always be looking for a place to get it inspected that won't look for them. And third, even though it passed emissions without them, there was always that rather strong exhaust smell. The cats have addressed all this point and really, these are not restrictive at all. They are 3 inch, and hell, you can see through them. Also, my goal for this car has always been to have a badass street legal beast. Now it truly is.
