a few days ago i posted a question concerning knock sensors and transmission shifting. thanks for the responses. well, i replaced both sensors on another vehicle that wouldn't shift to the final drive, and now its working beautifully! apparently, the shot sensors forced the ecu to retard timing to the max for safety purposes and prevented the auto tranny from shifting. dunno if it works the same way with the z's but thought it may help someone here who is stuck with a similar issue. laters.
