| A little whila ago I posted about some issues I had with the fitmanet of the Quaife lsd into the R230 diff. I have just recieved a email from horsepowerfreaks aknowleging the problem. I know from my last post a few people have the quaife but have not fitted it yet, the following email may interest you. We’ve received important information regarding the Quaife Differential you’ve recently purchased for your 300zx. Please review the following information. Recently we’ve had two customers bring to our attention that they were experiencing installation difficulties with their new Quaife LSD into an otherwise stock drivetrain. During installation, it was discovered that the differential would not install properly into the ring gear, without machining the crown wheel spigot of the LSD down .020”. This discrepancy in the Quaife LSD vs. factory has been confirmed at Quaife Headquarters in the UK and they are accepting fault on the incorrect build specifications. Harleigh at Quaife USA has been working with us since the beginning on this project and has received authorization to issue call tags for differentials that have not been modified for installation. Once these are received at Quaife USA, they’ll be performing all necessary modifications to bring these into correct specifications and will be shipping these out directly once completed. All shipping charges to rectify this problem will be covered at no expense to you. If you have received a differential and have not installed or made any modifications to the unit, please respond to this email or contact me directly at 503-256-5600 x102 to arrange shipment of your LSD to Quaife. I’ll continue working with Harleigh through this process to ensure everything is handled as quickly and efficiently as possible.
