I AM a moving target too, you have NO clue. I do not think some of the exhorbitant pay vs. the HUGE amount of perks justify a suburban cop's pay. The high crime area city cops get FAR less pay & take A helluva lot more shit. Try what I do, before you make assumptions.
What justifies a NJ State trooper to make OVER $120k to patrol between mile marker. 10 & mile marker 35, set up cones for construction crews etc, and chill???What justifies certain cops to have 3 divorced wives and throw their entire pensions away around the time of retirement? There are GREAT cops and the rest? Well....you'll meet them eventually. I work with them, around them, cover them, ALL DAY. I personally have over $7000 in the LATEST weapons and use/rely on them with my life, DAILY. The TV show "Cops" doesn't always reflect your typical soccer mom neighborhood, especially in the 'gun free, People's Republic of NJ'... Longer hrs??? Give me a break. 3-4 day alternating shifts for a small town cop? Plus $85/hr to guard a high school soccer game? Or construction crew duty, if they don't show up, they STILL get paid? What do you know...I dont mean no disrespect. But I'm working with a Sgt. at a local twp. to outfit their force to repl. their existing HK USPc .45 ti the 2007 HK45c in either SA/DA or LEM. Plus he tells me a cop got their vest stolen at the base in their own locker-room. My friend's bro is a cop now and a yr before I saw him take over $800 in shocks from a Sears? You tell me. Cops do not rule over you or anyone, but they aren't perfect. If you want to live in a Police State, then you are a sorry ass. I work with cool cops, but there are bad one's, like the one who's in trouble for beating a suspect while handcuffed. AND who slept with my friend's wife, now he's getting divorced. Oh yeah, it's in the paper. Damn, I would love to be I.A. (internal affairs) or a vice cop. Im trying, I am trying........
