| Copper is 1083^C Vs. Platinum @ 1769^C. I'd much rather have the cylinder shut down due to a spark plug stop firing rather than blowing a motor.
I dont see why people try to run Iridiums in a Turbo vehicle when the melting point is 667^C MORE than platinum... Thats just asking for a blown motor if it got to detonation temps. That cylinder would just keep firing away while the temps were way out of control. I guess if someone has EGT probes etc.. it would be safer.. but alot of people dont.
Its just so much safer.. specially when trying to tune. I used to run them in my talon to keep anything "bad" from being a blown motor.
I just change the coppers out @ every oil change.
