When I pulled the turbos to reseal the compressor housings, I measured the shaft play using a dial gauge. There was 0.0006" of axial play in them and 0.008" of radial play after 10,000 miles of use. These measurements show no signs of wear at all from spec and I've brutalized these turbos. I'm using a 360-degree thrust group and carbon seals in these turbos, which apparently are working very well - these aren't your typical "journal bearing" turbos. I agree that these turbos are at their performance limit - you literally cannot get any more out of them. But with that kind of power on tap which I can't even begin to use on the street, running them at 18psi will last a long time. :) I wouldn't consider running more than ~28psi on the track, with appropriate tires.
