| There are many responses from people on here who have never attended college let alone law school. Traffic tickets can be fought and beat with that little of a discrepancy. The problem is, many judges in reality don't care and will prosecute to bring that fine money into his/her municipality. Even NYC TVB, the worst in the whole damn country where there is NO PLEA BARGAINING and there are asswipe judges, will listen to case discrepancies like yours. A reality is that judges respect their fellow lawyers. Plain and simple. If a lawyer brings it up, there is a higher chance that the ticket will be dismissed. If you have one in the family that knows a little traffic law and doesnt mind going for you, ask! Otherwise, the expense of hiring for this purpose will not be cost-effective. Also...when you go to court, and if you have no lawyer, ASK the cop to define what he means by pacing. If he CANNOT explain it, (and I've seen it happen, in which the cop is not ready to define how pacing is done) the ticket is guaranteed out. Throwing in that you saw a Nissan 2000 fly by you will help. Pleading not guilty and showing up in court can prove useful even for this reason: I had a ticket dropped because the TOWN PROSECUTOR WAS LATE. In court, if the counsel is NOT there 30 minutes to 1 hour after session has opened, ALL TICKETS ARE DROPPED. No ifs ands or buts. DO NOT LISTEN to people suggesting you to plead guilty and pay the ticket. NEVER give up on a speeding ticket.
