I received a similar ticket with an error in the model of the car I was driving. The guy used POP radar on me (he told me that) and never turned the radar on to get the actual reading. I had all kinds of documents ready to fight the procedure he used and the science of POP radar. I drove back to the state where I got the ticket for the court date issued on the ticket and even though I mentioned the officer wrote down the wrong model car the judge gave me the opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty. If I pleaded not guilty I had to make another court date for the hearing. My time was more valuable in the end (I billed out at $350 per hour at the time) and I pleaded guilty and he reduced the ticket.
There are defenses for pacing tickets but you have to be willing to spend time reasearching and going to court.
