For the dyno and only on race gas. Very few people go to the dyno looking for conservative power only. A lot of people increase the timing manually to test for future track use, pure ego or just to feel happy with spending gobs of cash. Then back it way down for normal/street use. I'm guessing that's what they did for the customer here...or at least I'm hoping he put it back down after finding out the frag strip was closed.
