Message ...you would have to add energy to increase the angular velocity of the rotating assembly. When you cut power, you stop the flow of energy that would increase that velocity. No increase in angular velocity should occur. As mentioned below, the pumping of air, friction in bearings, etc, etc, will only serve to slow the angular velocity.
