It's NOT mounted to the tin bracket which held the cargo cover. It is 1/8” wall seamless stainless tube welded to the mount blocks that are bolted in 4 places to 1/2” inch steel plates that are bolted in 4 places to the chassis. We looked at the SPARCO harness bar and this is by far a stronger tube with more mounting points. Both the stock shoulder belt and the SPARCO unit mount to the chassis (sheet metal) in one location. We realize that a roll bar would have been best, but it was simply impractical for anyone over 5’ tall to live with the car. As I said, we have seen what SPARCO sells and we are not at all worried about this application.
As for the window decals, it was the stereo shops suggestion for the car show and it definitely attracts attention. Yes that can be a bad thing but living in a town of 1,200, crime is not much of an issue. Not exactly my style but it has grown on me.
