It seems that everyone who wants the widebody look up front seems to not want the "gills" in this fender and as the fiberglass is a little thin for your liking....why not cut out the gills and patch with a smooth piece of fiberglass then use this new fender as a template for making a form to make more slightly thicker. You could use it as a form to do some dry layup. It'd take a few attempts to get the vacuum bagging down (usually just one) then start making a quality piece that could be sold. Just a thought.
