after some (now minor) headaches, cause by my own lack of computer skillz, my Z is running on the EMS. I have done very little actuall tunning, and the setup of the EMS was actually pretty simple. The first problem i ran into was the EMS comes with a serial cable and the laptop im using only had USB ports on it. Easy enough fix.... buy a USB to serial patch cable. the next prolem i was having was the laptop USB drivers. I had to install drivers that would eccept the USB-serial adaptor. For some reason the disc that the patch cable came with didnt have the right files. Now for people that are fairly software competent, this is probebly quite elementary, but if your like me this creates problems. I fortunately have a friend that is computer literate and was able to find a driver that would work. Also make sure you select serial port, not USB when it asks. Even though im useing a USB port, i had to select serial. I recommend before installing the EMS in the car, do a "bench test". setup your PC on the table and plug in the EMS. Start it up as if your gunna start the EMS setup. And try to connect to the ECU, obviously it wont connect due to the ECU not haveing power, but get the AEM program to the point it says the ECU is offline. This is what i did just to save time makeing sure the laptop has a connection, installing and removing the ECU multiple time gets to be a PITA. Also if you have internet near where you are working on your Z, this might prove usefull. i still have yet to use the UEGO wideband feature and install the MAP and IAT sensors, and switch to a speed density system. Both base maps are availble on the AEM forums. Money cant buy happyness, but alot of people would be happier with more money AIM: Onebadz32
