If you plan to continue to abuse it regularly at the drag strip, I'd consider just buying a working used tranny (much cheaper) and keep swapping those in as you break them. I was faced with that dilemma myself. I went with a new 97+ tranny but as it turned out my "motorsports" focus has been shifting away from drag racing anyway. (I will probably go back to the strip for the occasional 'benchmarking' but I will not be out there every weekend trying to break records.)
