I've been having a hard time selling also and am asking a similar price. Two things go against us. 1: When you sell a car that is over $10000 privately, buyers have a hard time getting the cash for the loans, because banks really don't like loans for this type of used car. 2: At that price (and mine) you are really looking for a buyer who has the cash in the bank and ready to just right you a check. The key is advertising the car where the buyers with the cash are, big cities, in specialty publications, etc. You will have a hard time selling it here I can tell you that. No one here will want to give you a fair price. These are mostly young kids with little liquidity who have to go to the bank for a loan. Try the following: AutoWeek, Hemmings Motor News & Classic Car & Sportscar. I've gotten more serious calls from Autoweek but the adds are expensive. I just listed at Hemmings, much, much cheaper and a much larger circulation. The key: go to where the buyers with liquidity are. PS: You will have to ask more becasue the general rule of thumb for a buyer is to offer less. Sucks but true. Also, KBB and Edmunds are nice resources but buyers generally ignore them and look for every justification to get you to drop price or claim you are asking an unfair price.
