Message	experiencing is due to the wages and fringe benefits won by their Unions over many years. Today, most Companies cannot afford the wages/benefits/pensions that burden Ford and GM (along with their major Suppliers, Visteon and Delphi). We see the published numbers, the wage expense and benefits to build a vehicle by Ford or GM is not competitive with many other automotive companies. Compound that with better quality vehicles from Japan...leaves Ford and GM is dire straights.
