having ridden on both (I've never actually driven the KYB RS*R setup...), its my own opinion that the SPL coilovers offer better control and damping for the street. I've driven a Z32 and several S14s with SPL coils, and they're INCREDIBLE coilovers for the price in terms of performance as well as comfort. At the softest setting, the damping was extraordinary over rough pavement even compared to stock IMO. Of course its a little more harsh, but the level of control is VASTLY improved. I like a pretty stiff suspension, but I never found them to be painful. I'd still cart my mom around in my car if I got SPL coils. I've never driven the RS*R KYB setup, but I have ridden in a z32 that had them, and I thought it was very good as well. The RS*R/kyb setup will cost about 200-300 bux less than the SPL coils (does kuah still alter the prices of his coilovers in accordance with the current exchange rates?), and If you could put a monetary value on the performance difference between the two setups, I'd say 200-300 bux is about right. The RS*Rs to me had a slightly noticeable bounciness compared to the SPLs, which I hate passionately, so I wouldn't enjoy driving them on the street. I didn't experience them being driven TOO hard, and I haven't driven them personally, so I can't remark on a performance difference. I do know guys who have gone from the RS*R/KYB setup to the SPL setup and raved on and on about the SPL coils, so maybe theres a big difference.
