| is heat. While the auto Z's have a cooler incorporated into the radiator, a secondary external cooler usually reduces temps by 20 degrees or more. This makes a big difference in the life of the tranny. What you would want to do is have the fluid run into the cooler in the radiator and then into the secondary cooler and then back to the tranny. Keeping the tranny fluid cooler should reduce the temps in the radiator as well because the radiator is not having to cool the tranny fluid and the engine coolant. I bought a Tru-cool cooler off ebay for my truck. Comes with all parts needed to install and ran me $45.
