They all seem to be glamorized as being >30K mile engines, which I can tell you is complete and utter bull. If you have the oil pan off, it is very easy to remove the rod caps and at least inspect the condition of the bearings and journals. Even if you dont replace the bearings that are in good condition, it is good insurance for the wallet (and the psyche) to crack it apart a little and take a look. It is so much easier to do this with the engine out of the car than in it.
