Message	focuses more on dvd quality sound since it is a video player as well. My quess would be that it would need to be amplified. For instance, if you were to hook up turn tables directly to speaker, you won't hear much out of them. You would need to buy an amplifier. I can test m vision M on my gf's car tonight if you want. That should give a comparison from her iPod mini verses the vision M. Other than that, I have no idea. I know that when we used the fm modulator, mine had a better sound, but that also varied between my car with a powered antenna, and her shitty neon.
