| Well my wife and I decided to get a second car and choose the Altima as a good economy car. We found a nice 2003 in Buena park listed at $11995. Spoke to the internet sales manager on Friday and made arrangments to come by yesterday to test drive the car and pretty much purchase it. I take off work at 5 pm, pick up my wife and arrive at the dealership at about 6 pm. From there I worked with a nice woman named Barrie (Rob the manager that I was working with left but told her to expect me.) We take the car out for a test drive and it runs strong (39K miles on it) AC is cold minor stains on the a small corner fo the drivers side carpet and a small scuff mark on the center console plastic trim. No big deal car is in great shape price is right. We return to the dealership and another salesmen asks for the keys to the car so the woman hands them over and he and another guy drives off. i think nothing of this. We saw another Altima and my wife said she wanted to look at it so we and the woman walk over to it and she and I are discussung the priceof the vehicle that we just test drove. I explaine to her that I want to buy the vehicle but lets negotiate a little more on the price. We head in and the man that took the Altima came back and gave us the key again. We have a seat and I start filing out the credit application. At this time we start to negotiate the price. She showed me a paper that stated I was quoted a 'clereance' price of $11995 and that she cant go any lower. I told her that you must be able to since the car is cleareance and you wante to get rid of it. She then asks me well what is your offer. As I write the offer down the same guy comes back and asks her for the kesya again. She hand them over and as soon as he gets it he looks over at us and say 'Sold!' I look at my wife and she looks and me and I look at our saleswoman and I am like 'WTF?' I then tell her to explain to me how he just sold a car that we are in the process of buying to someone else? She runs over there and has a 5 minute conversation with the guy and when she returns she does not have the key. I start to get a little irate. She explains to me that when we went to look at another Altima the 'ASSUMED' that we were no longer interested in buying the car. Even though we were still holding the key, filing out a credit application and started negotiating on the price. I almost flipped out out. I told her that she needed to march herself back over there and get the damn keys now. I told her that they didnt even have the courtesy to ask? I told her that assuming is BS and in my field if we were to ever assume anything people would die. I expressed my utter digust with what just occured. I even asked for a manager but he was no where to be found. All the while this asshat is finishing up the papers and the other guy drives off with the Altima. I then tell the woman that I was quoted an Altima at $11995 and thats what I cam to buy. Now you just sold the vehicle that I was in the PROCESS of purchasing to someone else right in front of my face. I then told he she needed to go to her computer find me another Altima at the same damn price and the same or less mileage. She came back with a silver 03 but the price was $13495 and they would not absolutely budge on the rpice. needless to say i left extremely pissed, 2 hours of my time wasted, 130 miles of driving, and half a tank of gas less. I call the interenet manage Rob and leave him a VM with the situation and I emaailed him as well. I have not heard anything yet but since its Sunday i am giving him the benefit of the doubt and will wait till tomorrow for a reply. I would like to ask the opinions and suggestions from you guys on what else I can do or say. I am hoping to make this bad incident into a positive outcome for us if we decide to go back to buy another vehicle from the. Thanks for listening. Regards, James
