So I apparently got a hold of some bad gasoline (or something)! I've only had it out of the garage for the last week. Well thinking something was seriously wrong with the baby, I took her to the emergency room - Green-Gifford Nissan in Norfolk. $100 to take a look at her....coughing, stumbling, what could it be???? They asked if I would wait or leave it. I said I'd leave it because I was going to work a half day at the office then run some errands with my wife (she'd pick me up) - this was 8:00 am. Well I go back at 4:00 and the car is still sitting in the Holding Lot. The service manager apparently saw us drive up and he took off back into the service area. Comes walking out just as another manager was typing my id info into the computer to check the status. Well, the guy says they are pulling it in now and he will call me on the cell to let me know what they found. Sure enough, I get the call - "It's your #5 injector - it needs to be replaced". He goes on to explain that if one has gone out the others are right behind it. I told him I really don't understand how that can be possible on a vehicle with only 41k miles. I ask how much and his reply, verbatim "$3900 to replace all six, $2700 to replace just the #5 - and he'd have to order the parts". I told him I'd be there shortly to pick up my car. When I get there, the car is running perfectly and has since yesterday when all of this happened. His explanation, well, we banged on the injector so that probably got it working correctly again! Contacted a friend that works for a Nissan dealer in NJ - he said they have had a number of issues with the older vehicles related to the gasoline/ethanol mixture. Just thought the whole thing was entertaining - today. It certainly wasn't yesterday!
