Message Heel-toeing down a gear with a nice blip of the throttle, matching revs perfectly, nailing the braking point, apex, and exit on a curve, all in the matter of a second ... there's nothing like it.

YOU get to select which gear you want to be in, where your powerband is. That's not much of an issue when NA, since you can just stand on it and let the auto rev the crap out of it to get you out of a curve. Once you step up to TT power, you'll learn something called throttle steer, which may or may not occur at very high revs. The last thing you want is the tranny deciding you need to be in another gear while you're in the middle of a turn, using the power to nudge the back end around to get you through the rest of the turn.

Even Seedy The Poster Boy for the auto-inflicted will tell you that when you're road-racing, you really want a manual.
