| I mentioned this earlier this morning but figured I would try and gather a few pictures to add to it so folks could follow better. I have not tried this on a Z yet as i have external gates but we did it to my Supra the other night and it holds 21psi now. It use to spike to 20 and hold at 16. This is a great mod and cost $2.59 at the Napa store. I would like to see if someone would test this on a Z or if they already have? Goal: The goal of this mod is to hold the wastegate flapper door on the internally gated turbos shut for a longer period of time. In general the stock springs in an internal actuator are weak and will open at lower boost levels. The mod holds the actuator arm closed for a longer period of time to hold higher boost levels. This will also keep boost spike and falling off, it will hold the a more constant boost level through 3rd/4th gear. Parts: Goto Napa, Autozone, Advance Auto, and pick up a Carburator Return Spring kit, they generally have about 5 different springs in the box/package and we used the biggest (most stiff) one in the box. I think I paid near $3 after tax for the package. Installation: Below are some pictures. This is not the only way of doing it but it get teh general idea across. Some can hook the one end of the spring around the Arm/Actuator Door area and then back up to something near the head of the actuator. They all work in the same matter. A buddy of mine developed this for the Surpa back in 98-99 time frame and its a highly loved item on the Supra community. It in theory should work on the Z due to both vehicles using internal gates. Maybe someone has tried it already, i'm not sure, but if so it would be great to hear the feedback. WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING: Please PLEASE have race gas in the tank the first time out, your holding your wastegate shut longer and will make crazy boost and you will see the limits of pump gas in a hurry until you have the boost controller setup. Once the boost controller is setup, you can run pump gas fine but its highly recommened to not blow your stuff up the first time out ;-). I do not want to be responsble for anything. This mod is NOT recommended for stock fuel setups. Really not recommened for stock turbos are they are blowing nothing but hot air at higher boost levels anyway. Pictures are linked in from SupraForums

Hope this helps a few folks. Kyle
