If you were trying to tell him that pulling the engine ISN'T necessary, then why did you say that Nissan dealerships and the FSM don't? It seems to me like you're suggesting that it's easier to do the job with the engine in the car. (And preferring it stock is 100% ok and respectable, I was just pointing out that you're probably not speaking from experience, rather than hear-say.)
