| "form follows function" The function of an exhaust is to evacuate spent exhaust gases from the engine. A performance exhaust is supposed to do this as best as possible. In order to do it most efficiently, the pipes must be as straight as possible, hence angled mufflers coming off the X or H pipe. That extra bend for straight mufflers would put the exhaust an inch closer to being a cosmetic modification, since it's done for looks despite the slightly increased restriction. =p That's my justification and I'm stickin' to it! And if you don't like my motto, could I offer you "different strokes for different folks?" lol
Putting eBay "performance" parts on your Nissan 300ZX is like putting Pep Boys wheels on your Cadillac Escalade... even people on welfare know better. |
