There could be a second or third (depending on the counter number) that will catch you after you think the threat is behind you & you speed up again. First cop might use traditional radar, then you pass him/her and the detector stops beeping (or shows the rear arrow), then you speed up, and *bam* clocked with laser from the second one. At least with the V1 counter there may be a chance that it will detect how many threats are around you. That's the utility of it.
