Message	the only one of your pros that the Escort 8500 can't do is the direction. It has different audible warnings (in addition to the different color flashing lights), is remote capable with the SmartCord, and can tell you the number of sources in Expert Meter mode. While I don't personally have an 8500 (I have a Solo S2... the cordless version that is basically the same but doesn't detect Pop), I will be selling mine eventually to get an 8500. You might want to consider it as well if you aren't that happy with yours. Just my $0.02. Putting eBay "performance" parts on your Nissan 300ZX is like putting Pep Boys wheels on your Cadillac Escalade... even people on welfare know better.
