Message This has been discussed at length in the past and the general consensus is that these offer a safety benefit of platinums due to the following:

1) Less detonation as copper runs much cooler than pt yet copper produces a much better spark.
2) May, in some cases, selft destruct before your engine does if you run into a serious tuning issue(lean).

Of course they have to be replaced frequently.

Any new info out there? I bought 6 of them today and will be swapping tomorrow. Going to keep the platinums in a drawer as they've only got 20K miles on them.
