Message Basically if you use 6 psi (stock) actuators to try and get 20 psi (regardless of turbo) with a boost controller you will most likely not be able to get there. WHY ? Most EBC's can reliably control only 2x to 2.5x the actuators wastegate spring pressure. If you want to run 30 psi its best to use a actuator with atleast 15 psi spring. Its preferable to use a spring thats close to your target boost pressure. Ofcourse you can go overboard either way so use your judgement.

If i wanted to run a consistent 25 - 28 psi i would recommend using a 18 psi actuator as it would allow my EBC to control it with better "resolution" and more accurate response. It will also help the turbo's transient response as the actuator stays closed longer.

Obviously None of this makes any sense if you stick a 30 psi actuator on a stock turbo - its still not going to make 30 psi. All this actuator stuff is limited the turbos flow / boost capability.

Hope this helps

PS: the reason i used Forge actuators is to get my base boost at 18 psi vs the 12 - 13 psi for the HKS. There is a downside to tightening the crap of the w/g actuator arm. I won't go into that yet.
