Message Says they should be good for 100,000 miles, and that the cost of recycling them is built into the car's cost. So basically, you've got one major maintenance expense (replacing the batteries) after 100,000 miles. Doesn't seem like too bad of a deal, considering there are quite a few major things that generally have to be done by that mileage point anyway. (I know, I know, the batteries are probably gonna cost more than a timing belt and spark plugs, but still...)

This thing isn't intended for the mass market; I get the feeling that it's geared more towards sports car lovers who are interested in trying out an alternative version.
