:So when you use AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil for the Z when should you get a oilchange. Do you still change it every 3000 miles. Is it really worth paying $7 per bottle for this stuff? What differences do you notice in car if any. When I owned a Z, I started with Mobil 1 for the first year then decided to test out the oil after each change. I don't have all the test data any longer since I threw them out a few years ago when I moved but from what I recall, my results on the Mobil 1 showed it was good for about 5000 miles under my driving conditions (for those that know/knew me, I beat the shit out of my car on the street and on the track). I switched to Amsoil and did the same thing but kept on going until 8000 miles/1 year. I probably could've gone more mileage but that's all I drove annually. The only reason I stopped at 8000, despite the oil analysis results showing that the Amsoil was good for more mileage, was the need to change the oil filter. I just changed out both the oil and oil filter at the same time. (on a side note, I tried the Amsoil oil filter but the OEM Nissan filter was better). Any way, results will vary depending on how you drive, what condition your car is in, mods, etc.. but the best thing to do is get several test samples on your oil and compare for yourself. I can't remember the cost of the analysis but it was like $10-15, which is a great price in knowing what is in your oil and how your engine's condition is.
