| looking for. This is a great list: 1) you're leaking coolant somewhere 2) bad fan clutch and/or loose belt (should be stiff after driving with the car at operating temps 3) bad coolant sensors, check for ecu codes 4) debris blocking the rad or a/c condensor 5) blockage in the coolant pipes (excessive permatex on the thermostat and coolant pipes) 6) air in the system 7) failing radiator cap (to hold pressure) 8) leaking/broken reserve resevoir 9) improper mixture of coolant 10) lack of plastic splash guards underneath the bumper and wheel wells Alex But you are missing the other tangibles like: 1) Turbos being run out of efficiency 2) Constant WOT/brake/WOT/brake (think road course) 3) High cylinder temps (detonation, lean mixture, etc.) I know these things, especially #3, play in with keeping the stock cooling system maintained, but they are items to consider. You keep driving Laguna Seca with a video game - I'll drive the corkscrew in my 12 year old Z.
