| be collision. Collision covers you if it is your fault. If it is not your fault than either their insurance pays or you need uninsured motorist coverage (which I dont know how anyone can go without nowadays). Comprehensive is for theft, hail damage, walk outside and see that some soccer mom backed her tuareg into your Z and drove off, vandalism, etc, that sort of stuff. If your ins company wont give you comprehensive coverage on your Z, leave them immediately. That is total BS. You dont just hand them hundreds to thousands of free dollars every year so that they can not pay out when you need it. I have state farm and am satisfied with them. Depending on the adjuster, they may penny pinch you, but if you do not let them , then you wont get short changed. Example..... Car got burglarized, window shattered dash ripped up, cd player gone. Filed my claim, dropped car off to be fixed, stereo replaced. Upon picking it up, I found that the new window had tint on it that did not match the rest of the windows (and not due to fading, it was a whole different - likely cheaper - type), and my fairly expensive and nice JVC cd player was replaced with a cheap walmart panasonic. Having never had this experience before I did not think I had to micro-manage each step of the repair process to ensure it was back to pre-claim condition. With this adjuster/claims agent I was wrong. So I called my agent told them I was not accepting the car and was flat insulted that they were trying to pull this on me. I was apologized to profusely, and the car was redone as it should have been a few days later. I ran up the mileage on the rental car just to pay them back for the inconvenience.
