So my friend calls me up who I havent seen like 3 weeks telling me he finally got the car he's been wanting: mid 80's Trans Am. He says he's around the corner but his battery's dead and needs a jump. I said sure and drive over there. His battery was almost completely toast and took a while to charge and start. When it did he had trouble getting it into Reverse and Drive. So he basically forces it in and it just pops right in and we head back to my house. When he pulls up to my house of course the car wont let him in park. We sit there with it in drive trying to take the dash apart to see if the shifter is stuck. He tests it again and it worked and just shut the car off....first mistake. Obviously the car doesnt start so we jump it again with my J30 from the front. He starts his car from the outside and little do we know the piece of shit shifter is stuck in Reverse and my Z is right behind it. The Trans Am bumps my Z and pushes it 10ft before he hops in his car and shuts it off. When this happened it pulled apart the jumper cables from my J30 and slightly moved from his terminals. So I reconnect the terminals to my car and got shocked really bad (the terminals on his battery were touching but I didnt know that cause his hoods struts are bad and the hood was closed). I know, i'm an idiot, I shoulda looked. So if your still following this story, the end result of my Z was a bunch of hairline scratches on the front bumper, not so bad. But I then realized that my nose panel doesnt line up anymore. It looks like the bumper supports were pushed in about less than 1/8" causing my nose panel to move forward and not be able to close the hood. He offered to get it painted but its not too bad, it needed a paint job anyway. Anything I could do to better align the nose panel to close the hood.
