| have know as soon as you looked at them. The black in the tire is actually "goop" (can't remember the name) that lubricates the rubber and protects it from sunlight. It is imbedded in the rubber and the forces put on the tire by driving on it keep this "goop" moving around and lubricating the rubber and protecting it from sunlight. That is why a parked cars tires will go bad in X years when you could have them on a different car the same amount of time and they would be fine. The "goop" dries out and they start cracking and getting dried up from the sun. Sitting in a warehouse with no pressure on them and no sun on them they last a long time.
