Message be "reverse" mounted in the normal way and not rip it. One of the assclowns at my old shop did one that way. Took him an hour for the one. I was impressed, but made sure he never did it again.

You can also rip the bead "reverse" mounting a tire as well. If he didn't put the bead under/over in the right section it will tear that thing apart. Well, the machine *should* bind up, but if you force it enough, it will work, and usually tear the bead.

And if he scratched the wheel dismounting a torn tire, I would be willing to bet he didn't mount things properly, but what do I know?
