| was driving the joop from southern alabama to illinois, just before zcon. in the middle of alabama where the population is 6 (marion county), i got nailed on a logging road for doing 74 in a 55. it was legit. he was crossing over a hill with radar on, as I was barrelling down the backside of a hill and got popped. should i; just pay the $126.00 speeding fine? -OR- should i; pay for the $106.oo in court costs. pay for the $250.oo legal fee(s). pay for the 4 hour defensive driving class. the lawyer said he talked to the DA and has had the ticket waived so long as i take a 4 hour defensive driving class and i pay court costs. Of course, then I need to pay him for his time too. SO, do i pay $400-500.oo to prevent my insurance going up (will it)? over the long haul, i pay 4-500 up front, but might save more then that over time. thoughts? I can afford either, but I'm not for throwing money around just because. For the record, I have no speeding tickets on my record.
